We (a young-ish couple) have just returned from a lovely week at Viva Alcudia. The accommodation is excellent, the pool is superb and the staff are friendly without being too ‘in your face’. There is entertainment every night, but we didn’t stay in for it. Locally there are shops, bars and restaurants to cater to most tastes.
This is an international place, so expect to be amongst many Germans and scandinavians. That includes the staff. If you choose to eat breakfast in the restaurant, it is geared to the international market, and well stocked, but not necessarily excellent value at 7.5 euros per person, when local pubs and restaurants offer breakfast for around 3-4 euros.
Free use of sports courts and free equipment hire is brilliant. There are 2 tennis courts, a basketball court, 5-a-side pitch, outdoor squash courts and a makeshift beach volleyball court. The facilities are really excellent.
The location is the only thing that lets this place down. It is an excellent 3 mins walk from the beach, but is a good 3.5 -4km around the bay from Alcudia’s main attractions, which is a long walk, a 10 minute cheap bus ride or about 4 euros for a taxi.
We spent a lovely day in Port Pollensa, which I would heartily recommend. Take the same bus towards Alcudia Port and stay on for another 5km. Cheap at about 2 euros!
I would recommend Viva Alcudia Sun Village to anyone.
